At Generations Life, we understand that times are tough for everyone when it comes to finances. However, even if you cannot afford to make a donation of money, there are plenty of other ways you can help us with our mission.

Do you have time to help a veteran living in your neighbourhood? Perhaps you have skills or resources you could use to make the lives of our ex-servicemen easier? Through our adopt a veteran service, we will match volunteers with veterans who live nearby and who need the kind of help or support they’re able to offer.

There are so many ways you could help veterans in your area that it would be impossible to list them all but here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. If you drive a car, you could provide a veteran with transportation to their medical appointments or take them with you to the grocery store so they can get their shopping.
2. You could occasionally pay a bill for a veteran to ease the financial pressure they are under and make them smile.
3. You could cook a meal for a veteran once a week
4. You could donate items which would be useful like firewood or clothing
5. You could help them out with simple chores like changing a light bulb or mowing the lawn
